BTC UK Teaching Experts Entered the Classroom of BTC Partner Schools (3)

Beijing Sanjiadian Railway Middle School

On the afternoon of October 30,BTC expert group,which included Director Wang Peng, Deputy Director Tao Feifei, foreign expertsThom Kiddle and Susi Pearson, BTC teacher Wang Xi and Yang Huan, came to BeijingSanjiadian Railway Middle School. The school is located in Mentougou District,Beijing. Since its establishment, the school has formed the teaching advantages and characteristics of "take moral education as the first and teaching work as the key, implement precision management, and pay attention to students’ overalldevelopment ". Under the guidance of School Principal Zhao, the BTC team entered the English class of Class 3 Grade 2, and observed an English reading class with the theme of “Swifts” given by young teacher Wang Fang. In class,teacher Wang inspired students to think by reading and checking, and to understand swifts by finding answers to a series of questions from the students themselves, such as the usages of saliva. The students gave full play to their independent initiative, actively read and held group discussions, and expressed their understanding of swifts in English.

After the class,under the leadership of Principal Zhao, the school director Li from teaching department, school English teacher Wang, and the BTC expert group had a communication on the teaching methods of Class 3 Grade2, the current situation of students' English learning at school, and how to further carry out English activities effectively in the future. Principal Zhao introduced the school's football, model aircraft, calligraphy, wrestling, English drama and other features to BTC team, and showed the students' awards from participating in competitions on behalf of the school, which reflected the school's rich educational resources and open education concept. The two sides were full of expectations for possible future cooperation opportunities and international educational exchange activities.

After the meeting, Principal Zhao showed BTC team around the campus. In the calligraphy classroom, Thom experienced the charm of Chinese calligraphy and was impressed by the students' works at the same time. The school’s science and technology operating room was full of advancing scientific knowledge and atmosphere, and the students' airplane models came into view that everyone could feel their dreams.

This activity of BTC experts entering classrooms enabled the foreign experts to better understand English class in China. Through the discussion and communication with the school leaders and teachers, BTC could further understand the partner schools’ philosophies and development vision that also enable BTC to provide the partner schools better, more efficient, and up-to-dateservices in the future!
